Ker Nethalis: Into the Midnight Throne, Gravebound Edition

Welcome to Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne, a single player dungeon crawler set in an endless necropolis. With the tools presented in the book you’ll tell the story of your character who, after miraculously surviving an execution, wakes up to realize that their problems have just begun, and that there are fates worse than death. When you sit down to play Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne, you, the player, take on the role of a single character. Your PC is your avatar in the dark tunnels of the necropolis, and your decisions (and luck!) will determine their fate. Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne uses a simple D100 ruleset to resolve all tasks. Whenever a PC tries to do something and the result isn’t evident, or there is something at stake, you will need to perform a check. This is done by rolling D100, and comparing the result to the corresponding skill on the character’s sheet. If the result is equal or lower than the skill’s score, the check is a success. Combat is a big part of what makes Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne unique: characters need to manage their resources while being smart about their choice of powers used. The opposed combat check makes combat unpredictable and will require your constant attention, as you evaluate the different options that will open to you depending on your luck and actions.

Path of the Aram Thyr
Path of the Aram Thyr

Path of the Aram Thyr is a Role-Playing Game based on the D20 system. This means it’s largely compatible with most, if not all, other D20 retro-clones and published material, new and old. In Path of the Aram Thyr, you play as one of the titular Aram Thyr, a warrior in their path towards perfection in the art of war, exploring strange lands and dealing with unimaginably powerful foes and beasts. As an Aram Thyr, you have mastered everything they taught you in your homeland of Eorna Gynn. You thought yourself a master, and few could really stand to face you. But then, the mists that made travel outside of Eorna Gynn suddenly vanished, and a new land opened to those brave enough to traverse the Sea of Shards. Upon arriving on the shores of a place the locals call Aestran, you quickly discovered that you are far from the master you once thought you were. A new world of power and improvement opened before you, and you set on your path. Path of the Aram Thyr is best played with a Game Master (GM) and a single Player Character (PC). There is nothing stopping you from playing it with a bunch of friends, but the game thrives when it’s “me versus the world”, and this is best achieved when there’s a single PC. We have also provided simple GM-less rules and tools, for those wanting a purely solo, or co-op experience.

Stitcher TTRPG: Core System
Stitcher TTRPG: Core System

Stitcher is a turn based game. At the beginning of a new game, a Game Master (GM) sets the expectations for the game’s themes, tones, and setting. Players take turns describing the actions of their Playing Character (PC), while the GM reacts, directs entities, and narrates consequences. The GM can take extra turns to introduce a setting, or to narrate interludes, time skips, etc. In Stitcher, players have to “stitch” together narrative and game elements to assemble dice rolls that can be used to overcome obstacles. On top of that, optional Mods can be “stitched” to the core game to expand and customize it with additional rules. To play, only a good bunch of D6s and a way to take notes for the GM and players should be needed. I want the core rules to allow for an easy set up with your friends at the pub with just an app to throw dice and another to take notes. The base setup is casual and relies on the narration of the GM, but Mods can add crunch and depth to the system. Principles Easy to pick up, easy to hack and expand upon Setting agnostic, geared towards action and narrative Narrative and fun > rules, with good rolling dice dopamine Classless: characters can do what their equipment warrants, plus playstyle Simple D6 pools, with exploding dice Dual axis of interpretation: mixed successes and failures

Grimwild
Grimwild

“Grimwild is a streamlined, character-driven, cinematic fantasy RPG. The goal with Grimwild is simple. Take D&D-inspired heroic fantasy, with its 12 classes and super tropey monsters, and match it up with a super fast, cinematic narrative rules system. The rules are concerned with the dramatic over the realistic, and minimizing detailed tracking. The game is very low-prep for the GM. The fiction maps to the rules simply, on-the-fly. Designed to run in your own setting (or a published one), or use our pointcrawl exploration system and collaborative worldbuilding to create emergent storylines. Characters earn bonus dice for pursuing self-set goals, pushing the story in the direction they want. The GM is given a clear GM framework of principles and moves to run the game by. Get strong player buy-in with the adventuring party creation system and creative freedom for the players. The rules create fluid action and gets rid of the mechanical slog that bogs down D&D. And all of this with GREAT ART from artist Per Janke, creating a consistent vision throughout the book.”

Humanity is cursed, host to a roiling psychic sea barely understood or controlled, a phenomenon arising purely from the darkest portions of the human soul. While most humans are blissfully unaware of its presence, others are more sensitive. When it grows wild in these hosts, SINS appear, terrifying supernatural monsters that are anathema to reality itself. CAIN is the solution, the global supranational shadow organization dedicated solely to the hunting and execution of sins. It’s mission is clear, its purpose steadfast. Is there anything better than a good hunt? Just think, you’re all set to slaughter to your heart’s content. YOU are an exorcist, a powerful psychic soldier and tool of CAIN, honed and wielded for one purpose: WIPE OUT THE STAIN From Tom Bloom (Magnagothica Maleghast/Lancer RPG): a new narrative role playing game about playing psychic death soldiers hunting monstrosities made of human trauma. So it goes. Includes: *Rules for making exorcists, powerful psychic soldiers on a campaign of extermination. Nascent monstrosities themselves, they must struggle against the limits of their own expanding powers and bodies. *Rules for creating sins, psychic abominations created when their hosts’ latent psychic powers burst free of their body, spurred on by trauma and suffering. Unraveling the mysteries behind their birth and the tragic circumstances of their hosts can weaken them and be used as a weapon in the final confrontation, lending equal weight to investigation and combat. *Rules for running hunts: tense investigations that culminate in a climactic execution scene inside of the lair of the beast Character sheets and hunt sheets for easy organization *Over 150 pages of insanity, art, and stickers with an aesthetic inspired by lo-fi manga, visual collage, and barber beats album covers.
